Easy Heading Macro 2.2.0 improves two workflows that matter most on larger Confluence sites: moving content from Server or Data Center to Cloud, and navigating long pages after the move. This guide explains what changed and how to use the new capabilities.

Manage Easy Heading Macro across many pages

When the macro needs to be added to or removed from a large set of existing pages, editing every page individually is slow and difficult to verify.

Version 2.2.0 adds dedicated Bulk Add Macros and Bulk Remove Macros modules to Easy Heading Macro. A Confluence administrator can select spaces, scan for affected pages, review the count, and confirm the operation before any changes are applied.

Run more reliable Server or Data Center to Cloud migrations

Version 2.2.0 makes macro conversion more predictable during a Confluence Cloud migration:

  • Only the current migration scope is processed. Server or Data Center macros are converted only in spaces included in the active migration plan, without revisiting spaces migrated previously.
  • Conversion no longer depends on Cloud search indexing. Newly migrated pages can take hours to appear in Confluence search. Easy Heading Macro now detects the relevant pages without waiting for that index, so conversion can begin immediately after migration.
  • Temporary failures are retried automatically. Transient errors are retried, with improved handling for spaces containing unusually large pages.
  • Results are easier to act on. Progress and completion messages are clearer, and any item requiring attention links directly to the migration remedy tool.

For administrators, the practical result is less waiting, fewer unnecessary conversions, and clearer recovery steps when a page needs manual attention.

The floating table of contents now includes two tools designed for long, structured pages:

Filter headings

Use the heading search field in the sidebar to narrow the table of contents as you type. This is useful when a page contains many sections and scrolling through the complete heading tree would take longer.

Use the copy-link action beside a heading to place its direct URL on the clipboard. Share that URL to send a teammate straight to the relevant section instead of only to the top of the page.

The expand-all and collapse-all controls have also been refined to make their actions easier to recognize.

Performance and reliability improvements

The release upgrades the app’s underlying runtime for better performance and long-term platform compatibility. It also includes fixes covering error handling, user mentions, and heading numbering.
